Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has unveiled a new survey which is expected to identify the causes of domestic violence and patterns of abusive behavior. The questionnaire which is launched in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care (Ewa’a), will explore different types of domestic violence identified in the family protection policy launched by the UAE government in November 2019. Dubai: The UAE Government Development and the Future Office has partnered with multinational professional services network, Ernst and Young (EY), and the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) to unveil the ‘Building Future Talents’ initiative. Sharjah: Astronomy Enthusiast in the UAE are set for a treat in 2022 as Mr. Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society confirmed that the country will witness two lunar eclipses this year. The First Eclipse of the Year will coincide with the Sunrise of May 16th. Dubai: In line with its ambitions to boost environmental sustainability and encourage residents to reduce the excessive use of plastics, the Government of Dubai will impose a tariff of 25 fils on single-use bags used for carrying goods, beginning 1st July, 2022. The move which is expected to discourage the use of single-use plastic bags, will be implemented in all stores across the Emirate including, but not limited to, retail stores, textile and electronic stores, restaurants, pharmacies, online and e-commerce deliveries. Dubai: With the rise of Emirati Marriages in the UAE, Ms. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development has updated that marriage grants worth $51,971,138.73 were provided to 2,727 young Emirati citizens in 2021, a rise of more than 11 percent compared to 2020 where $46,653,959.52 was disbursed to 2,448 people. The marriage grant is provided to the newly weds who are Emiratis. Sharjah: The Digital Office of Sharjah (DSO), has revealed that the Emirate’s smart application and website for offering government and private sector services, Digital Sharjah has logged in a combined visitor count of 128,000 to its website and smart app while completing 7,271 transactions since its debut in November 2021. The service was unveiled as a one-stop digital user interface that effortlessly combines a portfolio of 41 essential public services provided by different government entities and private sector companies across 7 broad categories.
