Sharjah: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), recently attended the graduation ceremony of medical sciences students at the University of Sharjah. The event took place at the University City Hall, and it was a moment of pride and celebration for all those involved.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed expressed his delight at the consistent achievements of the medical colleges at the University of Sharjah. The Deputy Ruler commended the university for obtaining accreditations that meet the highest academic standards. In his speech at the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan revealed that a distinguished delegation from the German Accreditation Agency for Health and Social Care (AHPGS) had visited the university to inspect its health programs. The delegation was highly impressed by the level of these programs, which not only met but exceeded the agency’s seven accreditation criteria. As a result, the delegation recommended full accreditation for all the college’s programs, thereby granting them international recognition.
The President of the University also highlighted the exceptional achievement of the College of Dentistry, which ranked first in the state according to The SCImago Institutions Rankings. Furthermore, it was listed among the top ten dental colleges in the Middle East and recognized as one of the best 203 dental colleges globally.
Addressing the graduates, Sheikh Sultan advised them to take pride in their accomplishments and strive for further success. He extended his congratulations to the graduates, their families, professors, and the administration, wishing them all a prosperous future.
Mr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, the Chancellor of the UoS, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed for gracing the ceremony and honouring the new batch of graduates. During the event, Sheikh Sultan personally presented certificates to the 666 graduating students. In a symbolic gesture, the graduates took the Hippocratic Oath in front of the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, signifying their commitment to upholding ethical standards in their medical careers.
To recognize the graduates with outstanding academic performance, Sheikh Sultan met with them individually, offering gifts and capturing memorable photographs. Deputy Ruler conveyed his best wishes to all the graduates as they embark on their professional journeys.
