Sharjah: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the ‘Emirati Goldsmiths’ Platform, recently participated in the International Handicrafts Trade Fair (MIDA) in Florence, Italy. The event highlighted the SCCI’s support for Emirati talent in the jewelry design industry.
A delegation of Emirati women designers showcased their collections of gold and diamond jewelry. Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI’s Chairman, led the delegation and explored collaborations with MIDA officials and design experts.
The delegation’s visit included tours of Italian museums, design schools, and workshops. They had the opportunity to meet with staff at the Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School and discuss potential collaborations to promote Emirati designs.
“The SCCI is committed to enhancing the UAE’s position as a hub for jewelry design and manufacturing,” said Al Suwaidi. “Our participation in MIDA gave Emirati designers valuable exposure and opportunities to learn global best practices.”
