Dubai: Emirates has signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Malaysia, and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) on the opening day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM). These agreements show the airline’s dedication to encouraging more people to visit its network of more than 140 destinations and take in the sights, sounds, and customs of each place, while also promoting travel opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UAE.
Together, Emirates and Tourism Malaysia will seek to increase traveler traffic from the airline’s worldwide network to Malaysia. In the presence of Nabil Sultan, Emirates Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales & Country Management, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Orhan Abbas, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Far East, and Datuk (Dr.) Yasmin Mahmood, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia.
To raise awareness and demand, the parties will investigate cooperative advertising and tactical efforts through the strategic agreement. Where practical, Emirates will arrange familiarization tours for important Middle Eastern and Gulf markets to Malaysia.
With the introduction of a codeshare agreement between Emirates and Batik Air Malaysia last year, passengers of Emirates may now conveniently travel via Kuala Lumpur to five cities inside Malaysia and three regional destinations in Southeast Asia.
Together, Emirates and the TGA aim to increase Turkey’s tourism attractiveness in both current and prospective source markets. In the presence of Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, the agreement was signed by İsmail Bütün, General Manager of TGA, and Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe, of Emirates.
As per the recent agreement, Emirates and TGA will work together to encourage travel from important markets throughout the airline’s worldwide network, investigate prospects for arranging acquaintance trips to Türkiye, and cooperate on cooperative marketing and promotional initiatives that showcase the destination’s distinctive qualities.
In 2023, Turkey hosted over 56.7 million tourists. As of the first quarter of 2024, the country has welcomed over 7 million foreign visitors, representing a 13.37 percent year-over-year growth. Emirates presently uses a combination of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s to operate 21 weekly trips to Istanbul.
Emirates and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) will offer discounted travel services to ADCCI staff and members. Additionally, through the Chamber’s Business Rewards program for SMEs, Emirates will grant Chamber members access to extra perks. Through its busy schedule of events, ADCCI will allow Emirates to advertise its new goods, destination network, and exclusive deals to Chamber members. The airline will also provide its members with marketing promotions on all of its digital channels.
