Sharjah: The Police Research Centre at the Sharjah Police General Command and the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) have discussed ways to strengthen collaborative efforts in scientific research. The SCC has put forth and presented a list of social issues and ideas that could improve the council’s ability to carry out its parliamentary duties and encourage community service.
This came during the reception by Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the council, at the council’s headquarters, with a delegation from the Police Research Centre, led by Colonel Ali Saif Al Dhabahi, Deputy Director of the Police Research Centre, and the accompanying delegation from the center, in the presence of Halima Al Owais, Vice Chairperson of the council, Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of the council, and a number of male and female members of the council.
The research center’s organizational structure, work strategies and mechanisms, primary and secondary responsibilities and specializations, as well as scientific research and studies that are founded on exact methodologies in addressing security and societal issues and supporting decision-making, were all briefed to the council during the meeting.
They went over the Police Thought Journal’s publishing schedule, policies, and frameworks for accepting and evaluating theoretical and applied scientific research.
The council was briefed on the Police Research Center’s work plan regarding the coordination of scientific forums and seminars, among many other topics that are under the center’s jurisdiction.
Colonel Ali Saif Al Dhabahi further stated that the center’s duties include conducting research and studies on social phenomena linked to police work, using the results to inform the creation of strategic plans and objectives, and resolving related issues in conjunction with the relevant authorities. Additionally, the center maintains a continuous collaboration with the council to prepare a variety of research and studies.
Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, in turn, conveyed his gratitude for the Police Research Center’s contribution to the Sharjah Police General Command and emphasized the need for closer collaboration in order to coordinate joint survey, research, and study preparation efforts that support the council’s policies for societal welfare and its parliamentary work.
