Jordan: Speakers of the UAE Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, and the Jordanian Lower House of Parliament, Ahmed Safadi, have discussed the possibility of highlighting the strong historical ties between the two countries. Leading a delegation from the FNC, the top parliamentarian from the UAE is presently in Jordan on a formal visit.
They emphasized the current strengthening of bilateral cooperation, which is based on respect for one another and a shared commitment to furthering the interests of their respective peoples. They also highlighted the long-lasting relationships that were developed by the late King Hussein bin Talal and Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Both speakers emphasized how crucial it is to put an end to hostilities in the Gaza Strip and advance the two-state solution in order to protect Palestinian rights, especially the right to form an independent state. They emphasized their commitment to furthering the welfare of their peoples and tackling relevant Arab and Islamic concerns, stressing the importance of supporting cooperative parliamentary endeavors and aligning stances in Arab and international legislative settings.
As for King Abdullah II, Ghobash praised his efforts to clarify the situation in Gaza and the Palestinian territories. Despite the attendant political and economic hurdles, he praised Jordan’s custodial role and emphasized the importance of a quick ceasefire and allowing assistance delivery to Gaza.
Ghobash also restated how the attitudes of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in favor of peace based on the two-state solution are the same.
Under the direction of the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Abdullah II, the Jordanian-Emirati relationship is strong, as Ghobash emphasized. Such reciprocal visits would support cooperative parliamentary endeavors and coordination, advancing shared goals and objectives for both nations and their peoples.
