Riyadh: The World Economic Forum (WEF) is bringing its popular Open Forum to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the first time. The event will take place today (April 28th) and tomorrow (April 29th), running alongside the WEF’s Special Meeting on global collaboration, energy, and development.
This free event offers a platform for open discussion on critical issues facing the world today. Students, entrepreneurs, young professionals, and the general public are all welcome to participate in conversations about the environment, mental health, artificial intelligence, the arts, entrepreneurship, and smart cities.
“Riyadh is becoming a global hub for exchanging ideas and solutions,” said Saudi Arabia’s Economy Minister Faisal Alibrahim. “Hosting this year’s Open Forum in Riyadh is a testament to the city’s growing influence and role on the international stage and will help build on, and elevate, the Open Forum’s 20-year legacy.”
Michèle Mischler, Head of Swiss Public Affairs and Sustainability at the World Economic Forum, added: “Including the Saudi public in Open Forum sessions fosters diverse perspectives, enriches global dialogue, and empowers collective solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
The Open Forum format has been successfully used at the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. It brings together diverse groups like government officials, artists, and business leaders to discuss pressing issues.
