Dubai: Over 1,000 participants have participated in the worker marathon that the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) organized at Meydan in Dubai in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in the Emirate of Dubai (PCLA).
The race is included in the schedule of activities that the Ministry organized to commemorate International Workers’ Day in cooperation with its partners.
The top three winners were honored by Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in the Emirate of Dubai; Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs at MoHRE; and Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council. Additionally, prizes were given to the participants.
Under the theme #HonouringOurWorkers, a series of celebration activities were organized. These included visits to organizations that had made notable strides toward Emiratization in order to learn more about their employment and training programs, as well as meetings with and comments from Emirati employees working in the private sector. Additionally, visits were made to workers’ accommodations across the nation to greet them and give them gifts.
Hareb said that, “The Dubai Sports Council is proud to dedicate a sizeable portion of its annual activities and events to workers, providing them with an opportunity to play their favorite sports and expand their social networks with their peers in other companies and institutions.”
The Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai is committed to launching projects and forming alliances with different governmental bodies and the corporate sector, Major General bin Suroor confirmed. Their mission is to promote a healthy work environment for employees while honoring and appreciating their commitment and accomplishments.
He emphasized that these initiatives prioritize the happiness and well-being of workers by improving their quality of life and creating favorable conditions. This strategy also emphasizes how important a part they play in the development processes, inspiring them to achieve and maintain stability in relationships with coworkers across several organizations, a win-win situation for employers and employees alike.
