Dubai: Global Prompt Engineering Championship, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, begins tomorrow. The event, organized by the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) and supervised by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), will feature 30 participants from 13 countries, including Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Morocco, India, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, Austria, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
The finalists, chosen from thousands of entries from 100 countries, will compete in Art, Literature, and Coding categories for a total prize fund of AED1 million. The first day of the competition will be held at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers, with contestants judged on speed, quality, creativity, and accuracy. The top three from each category will advance to the final stage on Tuesday at the Museum of the Future.
Major technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, and IBM, along with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, will participate. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Deputy Managing Director of DFF, stated, “This global competition highlights a key skill for the future.”
Al Olama added that the championship underscores the importance of leveraging technology in creative fields to transform the labor market and digital economy. He emphasized the event’s role in supporting and encouraging talent to deploy Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies from Dubai and the UAE.
The judging panel includes experts from Art Dubai, Dubai Culture, Microsoft, International Media Investments (IMI), Emirates Literature Foundation, Google, IBM, and the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office. Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of Emirates Literature Foundation, highlighted the growing importance of prompt engineering, while Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash of Dubai Culture and Mustafa Al Rawi of IMI stressed the championship’s role in integrating human creativity with technological advancements and supporting the literary community.
