Dubai: The latest Open Auction for Distinctive Vehicle Number Plates organized by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai fetched as much as $9.95 million for some of the most elusive number plates in the emirate. Dubai RTA had organized its 108th Open Auction for Distinctive Vehicle Number Plates at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City recently. Q 22 (Q-twenty-two) became the highest priced number plate at the auction when it was sold for $1.36 million. While Z 31 (Z-thirty-one) was sold for $767,743.87, number V10000 (V-ten-thousand) was auctioned for $250,469.63. Dubai: A recent report published by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has revealed that the value of social responsibility initiatives executed by various sectors in the emirate exceeded $816.75 million (AED3 billion) in 2020. The Annual Report issued by IACAD’s charitable work sector reported that the social responsibility initiatives of public and private sector entities touched the lives of more than 98 million people. The report is supervised by IACAD, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and charitable societies and institutions. Dubai: Joining in the celebration of the World Arabic Language Day, Dubai Future Foundation, the economic development agency, has unveiled an online glossary of future Arabic scientific and technical terms for the public. World Arabic Language Day has been observed every year on 18 December since 2012 as a commemoration to the same date in 1973 on which the UN General Assembly inducted Arabic as the sixth official language of the Organization. The newly revealed online glossary contains 500 terms in Arabic and English, arranged according to categories.
