Abu Dhabi: The Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (E11), a crucial link between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, reopened on Sunday near Ghantoot Bridge. The road had been closed for renovation, affecting traffic from Abu Dhabi towards Dubai.
The reopening was announced by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi, which shared a map on its X social media account detailing the reopened section.
Meanwhile, a nearby route, the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road (E311), remains closed after Al Faqa intersection towards Dubai due to last week’s unprecedented rainfall. Motorists are advised to use Emirates Road (E611) as an alternative route to Dubai.
This development follows a week of extensive road closures across the UAE, triggered by record-breaking rainfall.
