Abu Dhabi: The 13th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients has arrived in the UAE in response to the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide medical treatment for 1,000 wounded children, and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip, in the UAE’s hospitals.
The program is a blatant example of the UAE’s unwavering humanitarianism, which stands by its brothers and lends support to them in times of need.
A plane carrying 98 Palestinians, including 40 youngsters in need of immediate medical attention for serious burns and injuries and cancer patients in need of intense treatment, took off from Al Arish International Airport and arrived at Zayed International Airport. There were fifty-eight family members with them.
Hospitals in the United Arab Emirates now have 1,154 patients and companions overall as a result of the entrance of this fresh batch of sick and wounded individuals. This comprises 569 partners and 585 cancer patients and injured youngsters.
This program is a component of the UAE’s continuous, multi-level efforts to support the response to the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and to offer help to the brotherly Palestinian people.
Assisting Minister of Foreign Affairs for Medical Affairs and Life Sciences Dr. Maha Tayseer Barakat reaffirmed UAE commitment to lessening Palestinians’ humanitarian suffering in Gaza. According to Dr. Barakat, in this particular environment, the astute leadership has instructed that all kinds of help be given in the healthcare industry. She said that in addition to giving the hospitals in the Gaza Strip ambulances, equipment, medications, and medical supplies, the UAE has also built a field hospital in Gaza and a floating hospital in the Egyptian city of Al Arish.
