Abu Dhabi: The UAE and Japan have signed 23 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) during the UAE-Japan Business Forum at Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Watan.
The agreements intend to support economic, trade, and investment ties between the two countries in the fields of energy, industry, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, space, health, transport, environmental conservation, and the circular economy.
Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Fumio Kishida were present at the signing ceremony. The Japanese Prime Minister was on an official visit to the UAE. These agreements involved both government entities and companies from both nations.

The forum was attended by prestigious officials, including Mr. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Mr. Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Ms. Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology; Mr. Jassim Mohammed Buataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance and member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and Mr. Shihab Ahmed Al Faheem, Ambassador of the UAE to Japan.
Mr. Bin Touq has highlighted the long-standing historical ties and the strategic association between the UAE and Japan, noting that this official visit is a key opportunity to advance comprehensive strategic collaborations between the UAE and Japan, building on the leading model of cooperation that the two countries have established throughout the past five decades.

The UAE Minister of Economy has called on Japanese companies to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the UAE market, renowned for its commitment to exceptional quality, reliability, and excellence. Furthermore, he emphasized that the UAE is a gateway to the MENA markets, granting access to a vast consumer base of approximately 400 million individuals.
The Emirati and Japanese sides have emphasized bolstering more partnerships in new economic sectors for sustainable development in the two countries.
