Sharjah: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has held a discussion with the Austrian Embassy in the UAE about boosting business cooperation between Sharjah and Austria.
Both sides also explored avenues for building bilateral partnerships that would bolster the business environment for both regions and elevate trade, industrial, and investment collaboration among private sector entities and institutions in both countries.
Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, and Dr. Etienne Berchtold, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the UAE, held the talks during a business meeting.
The meeting took place at the Chamber’s headquarters. Several members were present at the meeting including the SCCI Board of Directors, Ms. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of SCCI’s International Relations Department, and Mr. Johannes Brunner, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Austria.
During the gathering, the two sides discussed ways to reinforce cooperation and coordination between the Sharjah Chamber and the Embassy of Austria in the UAE. Discussions during the meeting also focused on the improvement of communication channels.
This enhancement aims to facilitate joint events and reciprocal visits by business leaders, missions, and trade delegations from both Sharjah and Austria. The ultimate goal is to introduce the respective business communities to the advantages of investing in these two countries.
Highlighting the significance of the meeting, Mr. Al Owais underscored the potential of such dialogues in shaping future strategic plans and discovering avenues of cooperation between Sharjah and Austria. The Chairman emphasized the role of such interactions in solidifying trade bonds and mutual investment endeavors.
Additionally, he noted that many Austrian businesses have already established a presence within the Emirate of Sharjah, are registered with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and are specialized in a wide range of economic sectors.
