Abu Dhabi: The end of the holy month marked the conclusion of the Muslim Council of Elders’ visits to many nations throughout the blessed month of Ramadan. The official, religious, and popular leaderships praised these missions greatly, expressing gratitude for the council’s efforts to improve connection with Muslims around the world, foster their religious consciousness, and encourage their constructive integration into their societies.
The Muslim Council of Elders, which was made up of imams and Quran reciters who brought back the holy month’s customs in mosques and Islamic centers, was honored with an event hosted by the Supreme Council for Muslims in the German town of Ditzingen. Some Council representatives, ambassadors from Muslim countries, as well as several imams, academics, mosque administrators, and prominent German politicians and socialites, attended the event.
A number of Italian towns, including Milan, the City Center, the Erba Center in Lake Como, and the Barak Center in Como, hosted lectures, religious speeches, Taraweeh prayers, and the reading of the Quran as part of the Muslim Council of Elders’ highly successful tour.
In a similar vein, the Muslim Council of Elders’ mission to Indonesia came to an end after a full range of events and activities were planned, including a visit to Dar Al-Najah Institute and University in Jakarta and a graduation ceremony at the Kausar Institute for Quranic Studies. The mission in Malaysia came to an end with a number of seminars and religious lectures, answering queries and concerns from Muslims, interacting with the local population, and sharing opinions on numerous significant religious and cultural topics as well as diverse challenges.
The objectives of the Muslim Council of Elders during Ramadan were to promote values of moderation, tolerance, and enlightened Islamic thought; to articulate correct Islamic values; to spread a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and positive integration; and to counteract all forms of extremism, bigotry, hatred, racism, and discrimination.
