Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has pledged AED 20 million to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, a charity initiative unveiled by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign aims to establish an AED 1 billion endowment fund dedicated to supporting global educational programs.
Launched during the holy month of Ramadan, this initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to promoting values of respect, kindness, and solidarity, alongside its humanitarian efforts to provide sustainable support through education and empowerment. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA’s CEO, expressed pride in joining forces with Sheikh Mohammed’s philanthropic efforts, emphasizing the critical role of education in empowering communities and advancing stability.
The Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which pays tribute to the contributions of mothers, aligns with the goals of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. It seeks to address the challenge of ensuring quality education for all, in line with the United Nations’ fourth sustainable development goal. The campaign collaborates with various humanitarian organizations to launch educational projects in disadvantaged areas.
Contributions to the campaign can be made through multiple channels, including its website (Mothersfund.ae), a toll-free call center (800 9999), bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201), SMS donations for Etisalat by e& users, the DubaiNow app, and the Jood community contribution platform.
