Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cybersecurity Council has launched the National Campaign for Cybersecurity, an awareness campaign aimed at educating the public about the dangers of open cyberspace and the different defenses against cyberattacks. The campaign targets both public and private institutions as well as all members of society.
The campaign emphasizes the need to exercise caution and alertness to prevent falling prey to fraud and phishing assaults, which deceive online users into divulging personal information.
The National Campaign for Cybersecurity is an attempt to put the wise leadership of the UAE’s practical directions into practice. Given the enormous advancements in digital technology that the nation is experiencing, the UAE believes that information and data protection is crucial.
These instructions highlight how important it is to give both citizens and locals access to a safe digital environment and to raise public awareness of the dangers of open cyberspace and preventative measures.
Throughout the year, the weekly campaign covers a variety of cybersecurity topics, such as how to spot dubious emails, how important it is to create strong passwords, how important it is to update programs and applications regularly, and how to use secure communications tools when using the Internet.
Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, commented that, “This is in light of the tremendous digital developments that the country is witnessing, and in confirmation of the UAE government’s commitment to providing a safe digital environment for all residents.”
“The Cybersecurity Council believes in the importance of enhancing awareness and spreading vigilance culture across the community to address these challenges. The awareness by individuals and institutions is considered an important pillar in protecting the UAE society against cyberattacks in light of the vast technological development and the increase in cyber threats that accompany it,” Dr. Al Kuwaiti underscored.
