Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), was recently awarded the ‘Learning Champion – Public Sector UAE’ title at the LinkedIn Learning Talent Awards 2022 in the MENA region.
The award acknowledges DEWA’s accomplishment in offering its workforce the requisite skills to meet the latest global standards, in line with employment demands.
“We are committed to harnessing all capabilities to train and unleash human potential to enable them to keep pace with developments and to improve government work in Dubai. We also take the initiative to ensure continuous development, refine employee skills and promote values of positivity and a culture of innovation and continuous learning. DEWA has developed an integrated policy for knowledge management to determine investment priorities and encourage creative abilities. We aim to be a self-learning organisation and establish a knowledge environment according to best practices and international standards,” stated Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

DEWA views LinkedIn Learning as a strategic partner in promoting its leadership and excellence while inspiring employee participation in self-learning programmes and courses that enhance their knowledge and skills in diverse areas.
Over the past five years, DEWA employees completed 110,086 courses, with a total viewing time of 132,680 hours. To facilitate knowledge transfer and localisation, DEWA provides multiple in-house platforms such as 6 Knowledge Centres, the DEWA Smart Library, the Ma’Rifa collaboration platform, the Share an Hour initiative, Knowledge Day, and Knowledge Day Community of Practice (CoP).
