Abu Dhabi: The ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ Initiative Committee will host the ‘Andalusian stanzas night,’ titled ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’, on November 12, 2023.
The musical event will take place at the Emirates Palace Auditorium, Abu Dhabi, and will feature a large music band comprising 65 vocalists and musicians who will be performing a selection of the most renowned Andalusian stanzas, directed by Maestro Ghada Harb.
The title of the orchestra, ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi,’ embodies the core ideals of unity, tolerance, coexistence, and cultural fusion, resonating with the prominent themes prevalent in the era of Arab civilization in Andalusia.
This musical event is part of the Art and Musical program organized under the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ initiative, which seeks to celebrate the rich Andalusian cultural legacy.
The initiative aims to highlight Arab civilization in Andalusia and its values of tolerance, and coexistence, and to celebrate the legacy of an ancient civilization that made significant contributions to the advancement of science, culture, literature, and arts.
Maestro Ghada Harb stated that, “I am thrilled to be leading the music band and choir of exceptional singers participating in the ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’ organized under the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ in Abu Dhabi. I am excited to present my art to the audience of the UAE for the first time. I will be presenting a rich art and musical programme, accompanied by an exceptional music band who will render a selection of stanzas. These stanzas are works of high artistic and literary value and hold a special place in the hearts of the audiences who value authentic Arabic music.”
In addition to strengthening ties between the UAE and Spain, the “Andalusia: History and Civilization” initiative intends to introduce the public to the rich and diverse history of the Andalusian civilization.
