Sharjah: The American University of Sharjah (AUS) Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) has concluded its AI Week, launching an AI Hub focused on improving the educational landscape in line with the UAE National AI Strategy 2031.
A digital platform called the AI Hub is devoted to improving AI education in the AUS community. It encourages individualized learning experiences and cooperative engagement between teachers, students, and researchers by supporting initiatives that integrate AI into teaching and learning. Furthermore, to consistently push the limits of educational innovation at AUS, the hub supports research with an AI focus.
Keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops focused on the potential of AI to revolutionize education were held at AI Week. The discussions covered a wide range of subjects, from “GenAI: Ignore it or Embrace it?” to “Leveraging Interactive AI for Teaching and Learning,” providing insightful viewpoints on how AI will affect education going forward.

It’s about cultivating an ecosystem where AI catalyses profound changes in teaching methodologies, learning experiences, and academic research. Through collaborative efforts like the AI Hub, we forge pathways to a future where every student’s potential is unlocked, and education transcends conventional boundaries,” observed Dr. Norita Ahmad, Director of CITL.
Critical topics including the difficulties of generative AI in higher education and methods for successfully incorporating AI into academic contexts were covered in panel discussions.
Through interactive discussions with AI academics and the exploration of Gen AI for researchers, participants were able to learn practical skills and insights regarding the revolutionary potential of AI in education.
