Abu Dhabi: UAE has always supported the people suffering in Gaza. Now, the country welcomes the 8th group of people from Palestine. The collective of Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE as a result of the implementation of the directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide medical treatment for 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in the hospitals in UAE.
The aeroplane carrying the group of 28 Palestinian people requiring immediate medical assistance, accompanied by 35 members of their families, departed from the Al Arish International Airport and landed at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
According to the reports, the arrived group hailed the “unique model” of UAE in responding to the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people. The group also highlighted the comprehensive initiatives of the country in providing humanitarian and medical assistance to alleviate their suffering.
They also expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the UAE for this humanitarian initiative. The hospitals in UAE provide the highest levels of healthcare for injured and cancer patients, embodying directives from the wise leadership of the country.
The UAE has been extending support to the people of Gaza since the onset of the crisis. The country launched Operation Gallant Knight 3 in November. The campaign aims to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The United Arab Emirates has strengthened its humanitarian response to the crisis. In fact, the country demonstrates it through the continuous flow of food and humanitarian and emergency medical assistance to the Palestinian people.
The country established a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza. The hospitals performed 100 major and critical surgeries.The statistics show that the total number of cases received at the UAE field hospital in Gaza reached 1,098. Further, the data also shows that the hospitals in UAE have received 395 cases of Palestinian children and cancer patients until 4th January,
The UAE has also worked towards addressing the dire water infrastructure situation in Gaza. The six desalination plants installed by the country in Rafah aim to ensure access to safe drinking water for people in Palestine. The plants work to desalinate about 1.2 million gallons per day. The desalinated water is then pumped through pipes that extend into Gaza.
The competent authorities in the UAE implemented the ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’ campaign. The campaign aims to provide relief aid to the Palestinian people impacted by the war in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the initiative also aspires to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups of people. The initiative will mainly focus on children, women, and the elderly people.
The United Arab Emirates University has welcomed 33 students from the Gaza Strip. The students will study at the expense of the UAE.
In other words, these initiatives exemplify the UAE’s long-standing dedication to supporting the Palestinian people. The efforts direct towards alleviating their hardships. The campaigns also aims to show solidarity and cooperation through impactful humanitarian efforts.
