Abu Dhabi: Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) has signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Southwestern University PHINMA (SWU PHINMA) in the Philippines.
The MoU aims to train students from the College of Rehabilitative Sciences. This training will occur at the health care management departments of ZHO’s care and rehabilitation centers. The focus is on providing neurological rehabilitation therapy services for children. This initiative is part of ZHO-established strategic partnerships.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Humaidan, ZHO’s Secretary-General, and Dr. Lohindren V. Adorable, Dean, School of Health and Allied Health Sciences, Concurrent Dean, College of Rehabilitative Sciences.
ZHO will offer an applied clinical training program for graduates of the Physical-Occupational Therapy Program and logistical support for students at the College of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation at SWU PHINMA in physical and occupational therapy.
The rehabilitation training lasts for 480 hours. This is broken down into 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. Additionally, a specialized work team from ZHO, consisting of qualified therapists holding master’s and Ph.D. degrees, follows up on the trainees’ performance. They cover the supervision and training needs of therapeutic rehabilitation’s external students.
This partnership represents a valuable collaboration benefiting the trainees. It supports their professional growth by involving them in practical experiments and therapy sessions. This hands-on experience helps refine their skills and gives them a thorough grasp of their respective areas of work.
