Abu Dhabi: US-based professional basketball league, National Basketball Association (NBA) has partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to unveil “NBA District”.
“NBA District” is an immersive and interactive fan event, which will run in conjunction with The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022, will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi between the 5th – 9th of October, 2022.
A marquee event, the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022 will feature major professional league teams, the Atlanta Hawks and the 2021 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks who will play 2 pre-season games at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The two games which will be played on Thursday, 6th October, and Saturday, 8th October at 8.00 PM, will be NBA’s first games in the UAE and the Arabian Gulf.
NBA DISTRICT
The interactive fan event will showcase the music, media and art associated with NBA culture.
Fans will be able to engage with NBA personalities from around the world, watch authentic NBA game entertainment, enjoy hands-on basketball activities, and purchase limited-edition NBA merchandise.
The collaboration will see DCT Abu Dhabi, under the banner of “Visit Abu Dhabi”, the tourism promotion initiative of the capital city, serve as an Official Tourism Destination Partner of the America’s major basketball league in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and China.
