Abu Dhabi: Trends Research and Advisory has discussed with the “Federation of Arab States for Better Partnerships between the Public and Private Sectors” on how to improve public-private sector cooperation (FAPPP) in a variety of research and development domains.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of Trends, was present at the meeting together with Dr. Ahmed El Kalawy, President of the Arab Federation for Public-Private Partnerships, and his deputy, Dr. Amr Wael. Numerous professionals and specialists were present as well.
The finest worldwide practices in the field as well as the prospects and difficulties of public-private partnerships in sustainable development were the main topics of debate.
Both parties emphasized that to carry out development objectives, collaboration between the public and commercial sectors is required.
In his talk, Dr. El Kalawy discussed the work of the Federation, the opportunities and problems of public-private partnerships in sustainable development, and the Federation’s role in fostering these kinds of alliances.
To accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals, Dr. Al-Ali emphasized the need for public-private partnerships as well as the role played by the private sector in financing such initiatives.
To complete a strategic collaboration between Trends Research and Advisory and the FAPPP, the parties decided to keep in touch and cooperate on research. They decided to hold joint seminars discussing the need for public-private sector collaboration in achieving sustainable development objectives.
