Abu Dhabi: The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honored eight individuals for their outstanding services to communities throughout the UAE in the 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi Awards ceremony, held in Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi.
The Awards honored people whose efforts in a variety of areas, including community awareness, education, sustainability, medical, humanitarian relief, and the empowerment of People of Determination, had positively impacted the United Arab Emirates.
Congratulating all the honorees, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan acknowledged their noteworthy contributions to society and their inspirational endeavours.
The President said that, “The recipients of the Abu Dhabi Awards truly embody the timeless values of giving, compassion, and altruism, and through their deeds they have positively impacted UAE society in a variety of ways. By honoring their selflessness and dedication, we also celebrate and reinforce the values exemplified by the Founding Father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs Families affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; in addition to a wide range of dignitaries, senior officials, the families of award recipients, and the official partners and supporters of the initiative.
The Abu Dhabi Awards honor people who have generously given their time and energy to benefit the UAE community and have a long-lasting beneficial influence. For many years to come, their significant contributions will be remembered.
The Awards also want to be a source of inspiration, encouraging everyone in the community to carry out deeds of kindness and contribute positively to society on their own. They give people the chance to nominate unsung heroes, those who, through their unselfish deeds and sacrifices for the good of society, have advanced society, for recognition.
