Abu Dhabi: Romania’s prime minister, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, has toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Senior Romanian officials, Bogdan Octavian Badica, the ambassador of Romania to the UAE, and Sultan Mohammed Al-Ali, the ambassador of the UAE to Romania, accompanied Ion-Marcel Ciolacu. The final resting place of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was visited by the Romanian prime minister and his delegation to start their tour. They reminisced about the traits and astute approach of the Founding Fathers, which enhanced the global culture of peace and tolerance.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (SZGMC) Director-General, Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, later led them on a tour of the mosque’s halls and exterior passageways.
They were briefed during the tour about the mosque’s noble message, which emphasizes ideas of coexistence, tolerance, and openness to other cultures and is inspired by the rich legacy of the nation’s late founder, as well as the mosque’s leading role in promoting cross-cultural communication worldwide and highlighting the true essence of Islamic culture.
Two of the Center’s unique publications were given to the guest after their tour.
The first, called “Spaces of Light,” featured the winning images from the Center’s annual “Spaces of Light” photography award, which honors the mosque’s scenic beauty and visual culture. The other was a copy of a book called “Houses of God,” which details the history of Islamic houses of worship.
