Sharjah: The Sharjah Municipality has deployed 65 community service patrols to areas hit by the recent rainfall as part of its ongoing efforts to lessen its effects.
The municipality uses all of its resources, including its fleet of vehicles, to reduce damage, enhance traffic, and guarantee the security of its citizens’ possessions. A committed group is working nonstop to carry out fieldwork in every area in Sharjah.
The High Committee for Rain Emergencies’ Head and Director-General of SM, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, emphasized the municipality’s dedication to handling substantial water accumulations brought on by intense rains. He applauds the town for acting quickly to contain the crisis by deploying committees and employees and establishing a state of emergency.
Al Tunaiji emphasized the proactive steps taken by the municipality, including the deployment of 65 patrols and field teams to carry out crucial humanitarian and community duties. These initiatives include helping impacted families get to approved shelters, helping people who become stranded in flooded areas, unclogging cars, and offering assistance to vulnerable populations including the elderly and others in need in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Government declared on April 18, 2024, and April 19, 2024, that it has extended remote work for staff members in all of its entities. All government workers in Dubai are covered by this, except positions requiring an in-person presence at work.
In light of the extreme weather that had been occurring over the previous two days, the decision was made to prolong the remote working period to aid field personnel in their work. Due to the heavy rains, the relevant authorities in Dubai have stepped up their efforts to alleviate the situation.
Furthermore, to maintain everyone’s safety and give schools time to be ready for the return of students for in-person sessions early next week, private schools in Dubai will continue to offer distance learning for the following two days, Thursday and Friday.
