Sharjah: The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) held a meeting in the office of the Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC.
As part of its weekly oversight of various matters inside the emirate of Sharjah, the council discussed basic government concerns during the meeting. SEC discussed plans and ideas that support all sectors and improve societal stability, as well as the status of work being done in government departments and institutions.
The Sharjah emirate’s Home Nursing Service was decided upon by the council. The decision contains several amendments, including raising the maximum family income for home nursing service recipients. This is because the Sharjah Social Services Department will pay a portion of the service costs for families whose income is more than AED 17,500. The goal of this initiative is to support Emirati families’ stability and expand the pool of potential beneficiaries.
Additionally, the decision calls for the creation of a permanent medical committee in the emirate known as the “Medical Committee for Home Nursing Service,” which will report to the Sharjah Social Services Department.
The committee will be established, its working system will be established, its members’ allowances will be decided, and the chairman will be named by the council.
The committee is responsible for the following:
1- Developing the conditions, regulations, categories, standards, and organized procedures for the home nursing service and determining the beneficiaries of the service in the emirate.
2- Approving medical reports issued by licensed and accredited hospitals and healthcare institutions in the country, determining the applicant’s need for temporary or permanent home nursing, specifying the coverage duration, and the required nursing services based on the approved conditions and requirements.
3- Evaluating the continuity of home nursing service for beneficiaries every six months from the start of the service, based on the reports submitted to the committee.
4- Establishing the conditions and regulations for suspending and canceling the home nursing service for beneficiaries.
5- Investigating on medical and technical complaints on the home nursing service, and addressing violations committed by service providers.
6- Undertaking any other tasks assigned by the council.
