Fujairah: The Fujairah Environment Authority has launched a book series on the natural history of Fujairah under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Environment Authority.
“The Natural History of Fujairah” is the title of the first book in the seven-edition series.
Aseela Moalla, Director of Fujairah Environment Authority, said that the series commences with the publication of the “The Natural History of Fujairah,” which is a comprehensive guide to all aspects of the environment in the emirate. The release date for the remaining books in the series will be announced soon.
Moalla said the series is a valuable resource containing written and video information that will be of interest to researchers, specialists, students, and anyone curious about the natural history of Fujairah. The series covers the transformations Fujairah has undergone over the ages. It also aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature, the environment, and its resilience to potential threats and changes. The series encourages individuals to strive to preserve the balance among all living creatures on Earth.
The late historian and researcher Peter Hellyer, editor Balazs Buzas, Dr. Michele C. Ziolkowski, and several experts, researchers, and photographers from individuals and government institutions in Fujairah have participated in the preparation and editing of “The Natural History of Fujairah.”
Because it was created in accordance with specialist studies and research, some of which are published for the first time, this series is regarded as the first environmental and archaeological database for the Emirate of Fujairah. The series is an important contribution to the emirate’s environmental conservation efforts and its desire to raise community awareness of resource sustainability and conservation.
