Syria: As part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, a humanitarian initiative launched by the Ministry of Defence’s Joint Operations Command, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has provided assistance to Syrian families affected by an earthquake. The ERC distributed 2,000 pieces of sacrificial meat through the Adahi initiative to bring joy and happiness to those in need during the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
The beneficiaries of this initiative were 100,000 Syrian families residing in the governorates of Latakia, Aleppo, Hama, and Homs, who have been heavily impacted by the earthquake. The ERC collaborated with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to carry out this humanitarian mission, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the affected families and help them overcome their current circumstances.
Mr. Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, the Head of the ERC delegation in Syria, revealed that the distribution of aid included 500 pieces of sacrificial meat in Aleppo, Latakia, Homs, and Hama, respectively. This effort provided a significant boost to the well-being of the beneficiaries in these four Syrian governorates.
Operation Gallant Knight 2 is a crucial initiative undertaken by the UAE to support the Syrian people, guided by the leadership’s vision. As part of this operation, the UAE dispatched 186 aircraft and four ships loaded with essential food supplies, medicines, and medical equipment to aid in the recovery phase for the Syrian population.
The distribution of sacrificial meat by the Emirates Red Crescent demonstrates the UAE’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian and relief efforts. It serves as a symbol of solidarity and compassion towards the affected families, allowing them to celebrate Eid Al Adha with dignity and happiness.
