Abu Dhabi: Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, the Head of Cyber Security for the Government of the UAE, led a delegation from the UAE to attend the Cyber Week 2023 Conference in Tel Aviv. The delegation included representatives from various Emirati organizations. Dr. Al Kuwaiti had the honour of addressing the conference as a keynote speaker in a panel discussion focused on cybersecurity strategies for the digital age. Other participants in the panel included Mr. Gaby Portnoy, the Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, and high-ranking government officials from around the world.
During their visit, the UAE delegation had the opportunity to meet with key players in the Israeli cyber ecosystem, including investors, Chief Information Security Officers, and top experts in the field. They also visited prominent cyber labs, research and development centres, and startups to explore potential collaborations and investment opportunities. The visit provided valuable insights into the latest global trends in cybersecurity.
In a significant development, EliteCISOs, a global cyber security community-based in the UAE, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cyber Together, an Israeli non-governmental organization (NGO). The signing ceremony took place during the Cyber Week conference and was attended by Dr. Al Kuwaiti and Mr. Oded Joseph, the Deputy Director General and Head of the Middle East Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel.
The MoU between EliteCISOs and Cyber Together aims to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity between professionals from both countries. The collaboration will involve knowledge-sharing, joint training programs, workshops, and other initiatives to enhance cybersecurity capabilities and address emerging threats in the UAE and Israel. The partnership is expected to foster the development of a highly skilled cybersecurity workforce.
