Dubai: The Emirates Group has opened admission for Emirati high school graduates to apply for its Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL) Scholarship program.
This program offers a chance to qualify for various roles within the Group’s aircraft maintenance departments and pursue a promising career in aviation.
Successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to become a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for Emirates, the world’s largest international airline with state-of-the-art aircraft.
The Group is inviting all students who have a keen interest in aviation or engineering or just love tinkering with gadgets, fixing machines, and equipment, as they’re likely to have an aptitude for engineering.
Fully sponsored by the Emirates Group, the AMEL program will run in two phases over five and a half years, during which trainees will receive intensive theoretical and practical training.
Trainees will initially receive a stipend, which will then progress to full salary and benefits. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a GCAA certificate from the Emirates Engineering Training College and a Higher Diploma from Emirates Aviation University attested by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
As part of the program, candidates will receive practical experience working on aircraft, which will provide them with first-hand knowledge to maintain Emirates’ wide-body fleet of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s.
Mentored by Emirates’ own experienced instructors, the program will equip Emiratis with technical expertise as well as soft skills to excel in the workplace, fully cultivating their capabilities.
Emirates Engineering is one of the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft maintenance facilities, supporting the world’s largest fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft operated by Emirates.
The facility also supports the fleets of thirty other airlines through third-party maintenance contracts. Setting high benchmarks for the industry, Emirates Engineering employees are fully qualified as they manage and implement all aspects of maintenance, engineering, quality, planning, and logistics.
In addition to the AMEL Program, the Group also offers scholarships in IT and the National Cadet Pilot Program, as well as a full range of career and internship opportunities across various other brands and business units.
