Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Foundation and PureHealth have joined forces to launch the ‘Active Abu Dhabi initiative’, a year-long program promoting active and healthy lifestyles in the Emirate.
The initiative kicks off on March 18th, 2024 with a 14-day walking challenge called “First Steps” at Umm Al Emarat Park. This free event is open to all fitness levels and will offer daily challenges, information sessions, and prizes.
Active Abu Dhabi aims to build on Abu Dhabi’s existing progress in physical activity, with 37.3 percentage of residents already meeting World Health Organization guidelines. The program hopes to further increase sports participation, community interaction, and overall well-being.
The partnership leverages PureHealth’s AI-powered longevity app, Pura. Pura will provide challenges and incentives to participants, encouraging engagement and progress towards healthier lifestyles. This aligns with PureHealth’s mission of promoting longevity and holistic well-being.
“This partnership is a significant step towards a healthier and more connected Abu Dhabi,” said Emirates Foundation CEO Ahmed Al Shamsi. “Together, we will set a new standard for impactful partnerships, promoting health, wellness, and community engagement.”
“We are excited to collaborate with Active Abu Dhabi and contribute to a vibrant, health-conscious community,” said PureHealth CEO Shaista Asif. “By harnessing the power of community, we can inspire all residents to embrace an active lifestyle.”
Active Abu Dhabi founder Mansour Al Dhaheri added that, “Teaming up with PureHealth expands our reach and amplifies our impact. Together, we can inspire even more individuals to reap the benefits of an active life.”
The 14-day “First Steps” challenge will take place from March 18th at Umm Al Emarat Park. The park will be open for participation from 3PM to 6PM and 8PM to 11PM daily. Residents can participate in person or virtually through the Pura app.
