Dubai: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has initiated the open call for the 12th edition of Sikka Art and Design Festival, which will take place from 23rd February to 3rd March 2024. Dubai Culture is inviting emerging and established talents from the GCC region to participate in the festival and showcase their artwork.
The festival, a flagship event of Dubai Art Season, is held under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and member of the Dubai Council. The festival provides a platform for artists to showcase their work in various forms, such as visual arts, painting, sculpture, photography, design, murals, and mixed media. It also includes interactive workshops, musical and cinematic performances, as well as talks and panels that contribute to the local cultural scene and reflect global trends in the arts sector.
In its 12th edition, the festival will introduce the Culinary Arts category, recognizing its potential to foster innovation and celebrate diverse cultures in Dubai, showcasing their coexistence.
The application process will begin on 1st August 2023 and conclude on 15th September, 2023. The committee of experts will sort the applications and choose the works eligible to participate in the festival.
