Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has adopted the Microsoft Power Platform and its AI-powered tool Copilot to advance DEWA’s digital transformation.
Copilot will assist software developers at DEWA in building smart programs and applications that support DEWA’s operations more smoothly and efficiently by utilizing generative AI tools.
Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, remarked that, “We work to develop DEWA’s digital channels using the latest disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and generative AI tools. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.”
Copilot assists developers and programmers in creating code and building applications. It comprehends the context of the code being written and offers suggestions and guidance to programmers while they are coding. Additionally, it provides tips on code formatting and error correction, expediting the development process.
DEWA was one of the first government organizations to receive the 100 percent paperless stamp from the Digital Dubai Authority in 2021 after it completed the digital integration of more than 70 projects with over 30 government and private organizations.
This public service’s digital transformation is a key factor that strengthens Dubai’s goal of becoming the world’s smartest city.
