Sharjah: The American University of Sharjah (AUS) and the AGH University of Krakow, Poland, have strengthened their academic and research collaborations worldwide by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It aimed to affirm its commitment to fostering international collaboration in education and research initiatives.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, and Professor Jerzy Lis, Rector of AGH University.
According to the agreement, the two universities will collaborate to create dual and/or joint degree programs, facilitate faculty and student exchange, carry out joint educational projects, plan academic events, and share instructional strategies and experiences. They will also take part in entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives. The American University of Sharjah, established in 1997 by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, is a private university located in Sharjah.
Chancellor Laursen said that, “This partnership strengthens the quality of our academic programs, allowing both institutions to provide a more expansive and globally applicable education. We have always put our students’ interests at the heart of what we do, and this collaboration will allow us to enhance the educational experience we offer them through sharing resources on an international level. Additionally, it accelerates scientific advancements through collaborative research initiatives among faculty members.”
In order to promote a culture of inquiry and inspire both students and faculty to push the boundaries of knowledge, AUS cultivates a dynamic research environment that spans various disciplines, with an emphasis on innovative research and a dedication to intellectual exploration and advancement.
