Dubai: The inaugural Gulf Youth Games, which will take place in the UAE from April 16 to May 2, are getting ready to have their opening ceremony hosted by Dubai Opera. 3,500 competitors, both male and female, will compete in 25 different individual and team sports throughout the event.
There will be 1,500 persons present for the inauguration ceremony on April 16. The 40-minute celebration will include a range of acts centered around the themes of youth, togetherness, and sustainability.
The opening ceremony will be a vibrant celebration of the history and culture of the Gulf region. A range of acts, such as music, acrobatics, and traditional dances, will be included. Modern technologies will also be used throughout the event to produce an amazing visual display.
Sustainability is going to be one of the main topics of the opening ceremony. Sustainable elements and methods, such LED lighting and recyclable materials, will be used in the event. Making an exquisite and ecologically sustainable event is the aim.
The solidarity of the Gulf region will also be celebrated at the opening ceremony. All six GCC nations will perform during the celebration, which will showcase the common customs and ideals of the area.
A celebration of youth will also take place at the opening ceremony. Young athletes from all six Gulf nations will compete in the ceremony, which will emphasize the value of sports in fostering both physical and mental well-being.
Fares Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee, and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the first Gulf Youth Games, confirmed the opening ceremony will be a diverse and creative event that will reflect the rich culture and heritage of the UAE and the Gulf region. It will also showcase the development of the Olympic and sports movements in all GCC countries.
Al Mutawa believes this combination will create a unique and memorable experience that aligns with the theme of the event: “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising.”
