Dubai: Dubai Sports Council has been working towards nurturing sporting success and promoting physical and mental health and overall well-being for all students through the Dubai Schools Games initiative launched in January 2021.
Over 4,500 students from 130 schools, including 10 Emirates School Establishment schools, have participated in 14 different sporting events across 35 days of competition during the past two school terms. The initiative has included new and exciting sports such as Archery, Touch Rugby, and Cycling, with the Cycling event hosted at the iconic EXPO City site.
The Football Championships held over two weeks at the Shabab Al Ahli & Al Nasr Football Clubs during the second term were a highlight of the initiative. A total of 1,536 footballers from 37 schools in Dubai competed for the winning title in their respective age groups.
Because of the support of valued partners such as Liv. Bank as the Title Sponsor, Go Sport as Presenting Partner, Aster Hospitals & Clinics as Medical Partner, and Mai Dubai as the hydration partner, the Dubai Schools Games have been able to deliver world-class events that are free for every school and student to participate in.
