Fujairah: Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, underscored the critical role of media in societal development and individual awareness at the Fujairah Media Forum 2024 opening. The forum, themed “Parallel Media,” took place with notable attendees including Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Information, and Saeed AlEter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office.
The Crown Prince highlighted Fujairah’s commitment, directed by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to evolve the media sector in alignment with global developments.
During the forum, Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Diwan and Chairman of the Forum’s Higher Committee, expressed gratitude towards the leadership for their continuous support to media advancements. Al Dhanhani emphasized the forum’s focus on enhancing traditional media while leveraging digital platforms to benefit society. He posed a challenge on how to harness technology without compromising core media objectives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining media’s role in addressing significant societal issues.
The forum also highlighted the need for media to uphold cultural identity and deliver impactful messages using modern technologies. Al Dhanhani stressed collective efforts to shape future generations positively through media.
The Crown Prince recognized the contributions of some of the oldest Arabic newspapers and their editors-in-chief, including Maged Monir of Al-Ahram, Hamad Al Kaabi of Al-Ittihad, and Ibrahim al Mulaifi of Al Arabi magazine.
The event also featured a short film, “A World of Magic,” which illustrated the evolution and impact of media technologies and the growth of new electronic platforms on traditional media.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and a diverse group of media professionals, marking a pivotal moment in promoting effective media communication and cultural preservation.
