Abu Dhabi: At the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024, the Muslim Council of Elders’ Pavilion hosted a significant seminar titled “Reading of the book ‘Concern for Female Rights’.“
The session featured Dr. Ridwan Al-Sayyid, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Humanities, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Haddad, Senior Mufti and Director of the Fatwa Department in Dubai, along with other distinguished officials.
Dr. Al-Sayyid praised the Council’s role in publishing works that reflect the rich Islamic heritage and its moderate ideology, notably those that highlight women’s contributions across various sectors. He highlighted the impact of such publications in fostering Islamic values of tolerance and respect in society.
Dr. Al Haddad elaborated on the book’s focus, which is to detail Islamic legal positions regarding women and affirm their rights within the faith.
Dr. Mariam Al-Zaidi, also of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Humanities, commended the Muslim Council of Elders, led by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, for their dedication to empowering women and promoting literature on women’s rights.
She emphasized the pivotal role women play in society’s development and prosperity and expressed her enthusiasm about discussing the crucial themes of “Concern for Female Rights” at the seminar. The book addresses complex issues such as inheritance, marriage, education, equality, and justice with thoroughness and clarity.
