Abu Dhabi: Picturesque Kaser Al Amwaj, an integral part of the Abu Dhabi Corniche is all set to host the world’s best as the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Abu Dhabi Masters 2021 returns to the UAE coastline on 29-30 October.
Visitors to the event are set to be welcomed to competitive matches where Olympic medal-winning 3×3 basketballers go head-to-head while the venue will offer electric entertainment to families with plenty of prize giveaways.
One of the event’s main attractions will be when World No.1 3×3 basketballer, and four-time World Tour Champion Dejan Majstorovic, the master behind one of the most iconic shots in 3×3 history will be on the floor.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour is returning this year to Abu Dhabi for the first time since 2016.
Sharing his excitement about the upcoming event, Mr. Suhail Abdulla Al Areefi, Executive Director of Events Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) remarked that ‘The capital of the UAE will once again host a world-class event with some of the greatest sporting talent in the world.’
“Abu Dhabi Sports Council is proud to have been part of FIBA’s 10-year journey and we will endeavour to nurture this relationship with FIBA for many years to come,” Mr. Alex Sanchez, Managing Director of FIBA 3×3 stated further adding that “The two FIBA 3×3 World Tour Finals in Abu Dhabi in 2015 and 2016 remain to this day two of the most successful events in 3×3 history. “For this reason, we couldn’t be more excited to work with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council again to bring back the World Tour to its second home.”
14 teams comprising world-class players from all over the world will battle for a place in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour final which will be hosted by Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in December.
Team Abu Dhabi, the winners of the UAE community event, QUEST will also compete in this year’s event.
