Sharjah: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the UOS and the AUS in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS).
The two universities’ cooperation structure and ability to undertake cooperative projects are the goals of the MoU.
Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of the American University of Sharjah, signed the MoU during a ceremony held at the American University of Sharjah.
In order to expand research opportunities and make it easier for students to transfer between the two universities for their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the agreement states that the two universities will work together on faculty and student exchange programs.
The agreement also intends to strengthen collaborative efforts in academia, such as facilitating graduate student cooperative supervision, carrying out joint research projects, and creating dual academy programs and short-term specialized programs.
The partnership also intends to promote cooperative graduate student supervision and other coordinated academic endeavors. In addition, the agreement calls for the two universities to cooperate on grant applications, research projects, and cooperative work in e-learning, consulting, curriculum development, and vocational training.
As part of the MoU, joint workshops, conferences, and seminars must also be held in order to improve scholarly discourse and promote knowledge sharing on an international level. e students, carrying out cooperative research activities, and establishing dual academy programs and short-term specialized programs. It also aims to share resources and institutional development between the two universities, which will facilitate the exchange of academic materials, institutional data, and strategic standards to enhance both parties’ quality and abundance of resources.
A steering committee will be formed to organize and oversee the process in order to guarantee that the findings of the memorandum are implemented successfully. In order to facilitate the funding of any collaborative scientific endeavors between the two institutions, a joint institution will be established.
