- Top rankings: First globally in measles immunization (Prosperity Index 2023), prenatal care coverage, low infant mortality, and national early detection programs.
- Global leadership: First in the world for healthcare coverage and lack of indoor air pollution (Prosperity Index 2023).
- High satisfaction: Ranked first in the Arab world and second globally for healthcare satisfaction (Gallup World Poll).
- Low TB rates: First in the Arab world and second globally for tuberculosis control (Sustainable Development Goals Index 2023).
The UAE Health Council actively tackles healthcare challenges and fosters collaboration between federal, local, and private healthcare providers. Recent initiatives include:
- Epidemic Prevention: Establishing a National Center to strengthen disease preparedness.
- Health Cloud Project: Utilizing cloud computing for secure data storage, enhancing healthcare efficiency and quality.
The UAE takes a leading role in addressing climate change and its impact on health. The COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate and Health, signed by 123 countries, emphasizes building resilient health systems and reducing emissions for health benefits.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) recently unveiled an updated National Framework on Climate Change and Health. This framework focuses on safeguarding public health from climate-related risks and promoting sustainable practices in healthcare.
