Abu Dhabi: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that an extension of upper air pressure accompanied by a northwesterly air current and a low surface pressure from the southwest, along with humid southeasterly winds, will cause unstable weather conditions across the nation.
Sunday is predicted to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall, with the possibility of heavy precipitation in certain places, particularly in the interior and southern regions.
On Monday and Tuesday, the low-pressure system will intensify and there will be more clouds over a wider area. These clouds will be convective clouds, and the rainfall will vary in intensity over a larger area. The rainfall will come in the form of waves accompanied by lightning and thunder, and it may occasionally be accompanied by hail in some areas.
On Wednesday, there will be less clouds overall with some regions continuing to have afternoon showers, particularly in the north and east where temperatures will be dropping.
There will be occasional strong gusts and moderate to fresh south-easterly to north-easterly winds that can turn into north-westerly gusts, especially when convective clouds are present. These winds will reduce horizontal visibility and the ability of some solid objects to fly. On Wednesday, the wind will pick up pace and perhaps become mild to fresh.
With cloud activity on Monday and Tuesday in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, the seas will be moderate to rough at times, and very rough at others. On Wednesday, the seas will return to being moderate.
