Abu Dhabi: The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has led attendees in the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Director General of the UAE Council for Fatwa, emphasized the value of family ties in enhancing happiness during the Eid speech. In addition, he asked God to bless everyone on this special day and to continue to bring security and prosperity to the UAE.
The President of the UAE greeted believers on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr after the prayer. Mohamed bin Zayed then went to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s tomb and prayed to God for eternal peace for his soul.
In a separate development the President, during phone calls with His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged Eid Al-Fitr greetings.
Throughout the calls, the leaders wished each other a happy Eid Al-Fitr and prayed to God to bless their nations and peoples, especially at this time.
They also conveyed their prayers for God to provide prosperity, security, and stability to all Muslim countries as well as the globe at large.
The UAE President has also spoken with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt over the phone. On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, His Highness and President El-Sisi sent their best wishes to God, asking Him to bless their nations and peoples, as well as bring peace and security to all people around the world.
