Abu Dhabi: The Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH) and the Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care (Ewaa) have signed an agreement in an effort to promote collaboration in social well-being throughout Abu Dhabi.
Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will share their experiences, and the university will be able to contribute to the cooperation by organizing and delivering pertinent lectures and using its academic resources.
Furthermore, both sides decided to plan training sessions and other humanitarian care activities for the center’s victims and residents. Along with these topics, the parties will talk about joint initiatives that will involve setting up scientific, cultural, and community service projects, raising awareness of pertinent social issues, and taking part in international days, programs, events, and activities.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities; and Her Excellency Sarah Ibrahim Shuhail, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Shelter and Humanitarian Care (Ewaa).
The signing ceremony was held in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Department of Community Development; and Dr. Mohammed Rashid Al Hameli, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
Dr. Al Dhaheri stated that, “The centre embodies the UAE’s interest in preserving human dignity, and expresses its keenness to fulfil its societal obligations and humanity towards those affected by these issues.”
HE Sarah Ibrahim Shuhail emphasized the importance of involving parties concerned with spreading the virtues of tolerance, love and human rights in the centre’s work aimed at building a cohesive society.
