Abu Dhabi: The International Search and Rescue Conference & Exhibition (INSRC 2024) has concluded its 3rd edition. INSRC 2024 was hosted by the National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC), under the National Guard Command, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
The event attracted many participants, including experts, decision-makers, and guests from within and outside the country, individuals with an interest in search and rescue, university students, and other educators, who engaged in insightful sessions, and interactive workshops and discovered the latest equipment and solutions presented by exhibitors in this crucial field.
The four-day event provided a vibrant platform for featuring cutting-edge innovation such as artificial intelligence applications, addressing emerging trends, critical topics, and challenges, while also sharing best practices in search and rescue (SAR).
The NSRC introduced a groundbreaking initiative, the ‘University and Student Engagement Zone’, at the event. This innovative Zone serves as a platform for students to showcase their graduation projects focusing on search and rescue initiatives. Several educational institutions underscored a collective commitment to preparing students for successful careers in emergency response.
The NSRC has taken comprehensive measures, including providing training, opportunities, and support, to enhance women’s participation in the field. Inspiring stories for the first female Emirati Critical Care paramedic in the search and rescue sector were told, paving the way for more female representation in emergency response teams in the UAE.
In a traditionally male-dominated search and rescue sector, female representation marks a significant milestone in the journey towards gender equality and diversity.
During INSRC 2024, a series of memoranda of understanding and cooperation was ended between the National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC) and various partners and specialized institutions. These agreements aim to enhance cooperation and coordination in delivering search and rescue services and managing related operations.
