Dubai: The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) has initiated the Dubai Demand Side Management Recognition Programme, an exclusive avenue to acknowledge and reward the outstanding endeavours of entities and persons who augment Dubai’s future via conscientious energy and water efficiency, circular economy, inventiveness, and outstanding contributions that foster a sustainable setting.
Every category embodies a crucial facet of Dubai’s endeavour to curtail energy use, ranging from inventive green construction programs to trailblazing advancements in energy-efficient cooling technologies and beyond.
“Through the Demand Side Management Recognition Programme, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy aims to improve the use of energy, water, and fuel and develop exceptional contributions in energy efficiency, water use, sustainability, and the circular economy. This supports the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote a green economy and sustainable development,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy’s Secretary-General, Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, stated that the program honours exceptional accomplishments in Dubai. This demonstrates the Emirate’s dedication to the Demand Side Management Strategy, which seeks to achieve a 30 percent reduction in energy and water usage by 2030. It also has a favourable effect on gasoline consumption, which further advances the goal of a sustainable future.
The Demand Side Management Strategy is a great way to cut down on energy and water use and encourage a more sustainable future, and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy reaffirms the Emirate’s commitment to it.
In addition to highlighting Dubai’s efforts and dedication to sustainability, the program honours trailblazing projects in green building, energy-efficient cooling, and many other areas. The initiative received an astounding response, with over 86 entries from both the public and private sectors. The entries will be assessed by an expert committee to determine their impact and alignment with the Demand Side Management Strategy. The program winners will be revealed in May 2024.
