Dubai: The Dubai Media Council (DMC) and Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It aims to bolster cooperation in the media sector.
The agreement was signed during the opening day of the 21st Arab Media Forum (AMF). The Forum is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
Mr. Karam Gaber, Head of Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation, and Ms. Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, have signed the MoU.
“It represents the convergence of our vision on the importance of joint efforts to build new pathways that can contribute to the advancement of Arab media. We look forward to this MoU being the start of a fruitful partnership that accelerates the development of the sector at both bilateral and regional levels,” Ms. Mona Al Marri added.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, was present at the ceremony.
This agreement signals a new beginning. It marks cooperation between the media sectors of both nations, aligning with the strong friendship between the UAE and Egypt.
The MoU intends to enhance collaboration in training, developing human resources, sharing knowledge, and working together on media research.
The agreement takes effect on the date of its signing. It extends the close collaboration between Dubai and Egypt’s media community. This builds upon the various initiatives launched by Dubai over the years to support Arab media.
