Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Team has convened a coordination meeting at its Abu Dhabi location.
Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Authority and Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police, presided over the meeting. The agenda included proactive steps and preparations to improve the emirate’s preparedness to respond to the atmospheric depression and its anticipated effects.
To more effectively address potential emergencies, crises, and disasters throughout the emirate, the team also discussed mechanisms to enhance the joint efforts of relevant entities to ensure a rapid response by coordinating the roles of response teams and standardizing measures to respond to the atmospheric depression and its impacts.
The group reviewed, according to their areas of expertise, the tasks and responsibilities of pertinent teams. Plans for key entities throughout the emirate to maintain business continuity were also reviewed, along with procedures for triggering the early warning system of Abu Dhabi Police, which notifies citizens in advance of necessary safety precautions to be taken to protect people and property during inclement weather.
Staff Major General Pilot praised the wise leadership’s directives and continuous support to enhance the capabilities of response teams and enhance their leading role in protecting lives and property. Al Mazrouei assured readiness to achieve anticipated objectives and aspirations thanks to the comprehensive plans in place, and the cooperation with relative local and federal entities.
To strengthen Abu Dhabi’s standing as a premier hub for handling emergencies and crises, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crises and Disaster Management Team is attempting to create an ecosystem to manage emergencies and crises through coordination with various entities, enhancing competencies, guaranteeing capacity building, and utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
